Five Police officers of the Nigeria Police Force slumped on Friday at the Police College, Ikeja, during a parade to mark the pulling out (retirement) of senior police officers.
It was said The event, which lasted for about two hours, was held in honour of seven retiring officers, made up of two AIGs and five commissioners.
While the parade was going on, a policeman slumped midway into the ceremony, and was quickly attended to by the paramedics. They carried the Police man away in an NPF ambulance. Almost immediately after the incident, three others, including a woman, also slumped. It was gathered that the Paramedics, who attended to them, gave them sachet water, which they drank and also poured on their heads.
Later on, another man, the fifth also slumped and was taken out of the parade ground by the paramedics for medical attention.
The ceremony had attracted top officers of the Nigerian Police Force who attended the ceremony and they include Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar; the Chairman, Police Service Commission, Mike Okiro (retd), and among other dignitaries.
