Two herbalists and five other suspects with a human head in Oyo town have been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Oyo State Command.
It was reported that other suspects that were paraded by the NSCDC in Ibadan were three women, who had claimed that they knew nothing about the offence.
There was a mild drama, however, during the parade as the suspects claimed that the head was a fake one even though it dripped blood.
A coffin, three cars, a calabash, clothes, 16 handsets, charms and other items were also found in possession of the suspects.
One of the suspects, Hamidu Ogunnjimi, who is a herbalist, said he was arrested in his office and that the suspected blood was from a cow.
He said, “What you are looking at is not a human head as they claimed, we used cassava flour to mould it. We put blood from a cow so that it would look like a real human blood. I agree that I am a fraudster, but not a ritualist.”
The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Shem Obafaiye, said his men arrested the suspects at the Iware area of the state after intelligence gathering.
He said they would be handed over to the State Security Service.
