Meet the woman who lives with 200 snakes

A 64 year old woman who is a pensioner was found living with almost 200 snakes in her semi-detached house has been banned from keeping reptiles for a year.

64 year old Pauline Wallace, turned the house where she lived with her elderly mother into a "snake hostel" after becoming obsessed with the creatures. She kept 114 of them in her bedroom alone.

It was learn that she couldn't look after them properly and after the RSPCA inspected the house, they brought a prosecution against her which has so far cost the charity more than £150,000.

Currently at York Magistrates' Court, Pauline Wallace was given a 12-month community order with supervision as well as the ban on keeping reptiles.

She had pleaded guilty to nine counts of animal cruelty at a hearing last year.

The court heard that RSPCA inspectors found 20 snakes frozen in a fridge freezer alongside a dead cat because she couldn't bear to bury them.

The live snakes were kept in old sweet tubs, plastic bins and vivariums that were stacked from floor to ceiling.

Pop star Justin Bieber likely to be jailed over limo driver 'attack'

19 year old Justin Bieber could face up to 18 months in prison after being charged with attacking a limo driver.

The pop brat, was accused of hitting him on the head and leaving before police arrived. The driver, who has since quit his job, was taking Bieber and five pals from a nightclub to a hotel.

According to police statement: “An altercation occurred between one of the passengers and the driver. A man struck the driver on the back of the head several times. The driver exited the vehicle and called police. The man who struck him left the scene.”

It was learnt that Bieber handed himself in to police on Wednesday in Toronto, Ontario, and was charged with assault over the alleged December 30 attack in the city. He faces court on March 10.

In Ontario a first time assault conviction can typically mean up to 18 months’ jail or a fine. But his lawyer Howard Weitzman said the star was innocent.

Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun tweeted: “I ask people to be kind and hope for the best in people. Not assume the worst.”

It was the Boyfriend singer’s second brush with the law in a week.

He tested positive for marijuana and Xanax after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and drag racing in Miami.

But his alcohol level was under the legal limit. He pleaded not guilty and was bailed. It came as 100,000 people signed a petition to kick him out of the US.

Franck Ribery and Benzema at last cleared of having sex with underage girl

Two French International football stars Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema were yesterday cleared of having sex with an underage prostitute Zahia Dehar.

The Court has ruled there was insufficient proof French internationals Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema were aware Zahia Dehar was 17 at the time in 2009.

It was reported that the case in Paris eventually collapsed after Dehar confessed neither man knew her age.

Bayern Munich star Ribery admitted sleeping with her after he flew her in on a private jet as a 26th birthday present for himself.

He said £650 he gave her was for travel, food and a hotel.

The prosecution said it was "doubtful" Real Madrid's Benzema, 26, had sex with Dehar at all or paid £400 to sleep with her.

In France, the sexual age of consent is 15 but paying for sex is only legal if the woman is 18 or over.

Female guard of Sultan of Brunei's ex-wife 'stole £12million diamonds then replaced them with £300 fakes

Source: UK News

Court has arrained a female bodyguard to the ex wife of Sultan of Brunei for stealing £12million in diamonds then replaced them with worthless replicas worth only £30, a court has been told.

The 35 year old Fatimah Lim, is alleged to have taken the jewellery from Mariam Aziz - the Sultan of Brunei's ex wife - to pay her gambling debts from her house in Kensington, West London.

She is accused of taking a pear-shaped 12.71 blue diamond worth £7.6million and a rectangular 27.1 carat yellow diamond worth £600,000 and a £3.3million diamond bracelet.

Fatimah Lim was allegedly caught when Miss Aziz asked Lim to return the bracelet after she gave it to her for safe keeping.

The court was told Lim later stole and sold the diamonds given to Miss Aziz by the Sultan of Brunei during their marriage.

She replaced them with fakes worth just £300 she had made.

The Sultan of Brunei, one of the world's richest men, and Mrs Aziz, a former airline stewardess who is of Bruneian, Japanese and Scottish ancestry, had four children during their 21 years of marriage.

It was learnt Lim started working for Miss Aziz in 2003 firstly as a badminton coach, but that her role eventually evolved to that of a personal assistant and bodyguard to the mother-of-four.

In her capacity she travelled between her boss's houses in Singapore, or Brunei, or in London.

Mr Patterson added: "The background, sadly, to this case is that Miss Aziz came to consider the defendant to be one of her most trusted employees and considered her essentially as a friend."

The pair would visit casinos across the world, including the Clermont Club in Berkeley Square and Les Ambassadeurs, near Park Lane and such was the trust placed in her Lim "was allowed to become a signatory on Miss Aziz's accounts."

If Miss Aziz reached her credit limit on any of her own accounts, she would be able to use Lim's.

It was at the Les Ambassadeurs casino in May 2008 that Miss Aziz gave her an eight-diamond bracelet worth around $5.5million dollars bought from Graff jewellers in Bond Street for safe keeping.

Two or three weeks later the sultan's former wife wanted to wear the bracelet, but that it could not be found, it was said.

Miss Aziz's staff were spoken to and Lim denied having ever been given the item. Instead suspicions were raised against another housemaid. However, that housemaid claims that Lim had later come to her and said she knew someone who could make replica jewellery.

Lim eventually took the bracelet, as well as another one, to a jeweller in London's famous Hatton Garden.

Giving her name as Sue, but later identifying herself, she claimed she had authorisation from her mother to sell the items.

76 year old great-granny went on 4 year flamboyant shoplifting cos she was 'bored' of being old

Source: The Mirror

A 76 great-grandmother June Humphreys was reported to have used her free bus pass to travel into town and swipe goods, hid them in her shopping cart then sneaked out of stores without paying.

The OAP would strike across two counties despite having treatment for breast cancer and osteoarthritis at the time.

June Humphreys who is noted to be come Crewe, Cheshire, had convictions for shoplifting in 2011, 2012, 2013 and January this year. Michael Schumacher 'blinks during brain tests' as doctors slowly wake him from coma

It was reported that Racing legend Michael Schumacher blinked as doctors started to bring him out of his month-long induced coma.

The seven-time F1 world champion, who suffered serious head injuries in a skiing crash, was also “responding to instructions”, according to reports in France

Sports newspaper L’Equipe claimed Schumacher, 45, had reacted “positively” to a series of tests.

Its report said: “After gradually reducing the sedation of the patient, the team of Prof Emmanuel Gay has been doing neurological tests since Monday. During this first stage, the patient blinked.”

Schumacher was also reportedly “responding to instructions”.

Top brain injury specialist Dr Ganesh Bavikatte, said it was “fantastic news” if the reports were accurate.

Dr Bavikatte, a consultant at The Walton Centre in Liverpool, said: “The blinking could either be an involuntary response or a voluntary response to the brain tests.

“What is important is checking whether the blinking is consistent, ie, does he only blink when they ask him a question?

“This would support the theory that his responses were voluntary. If his medical team decides his blinking is voluntary, it could be a sign he is trying to communicate with them or his family.

“They will not rush this process though, as they will want to give him every chance to respond positively.”

Schumacher’s wife Corinna, 44, with whom he has two children, Gina Maria 16, and Mick, 14, has remained at his bedside at Grenoble University Hospital.

He had two operations and has received round-the-clock care since his horror accident in the French ski resort of Meribel last month.

“The family wants to express sincere appreciation for the sympathy from around the world.”

It has been known for a patient to spend weeks in an induced coma and make a full recovery

The present state of some schools in Nigeria

Most schools in Nigeria have long been neglected that their present conditions have gone from bad to worse and do not even fit to be used as animal houses. A school around Akute Bus Stop, the border town between Ogun State and Ojodu in Lagos State known as Akute Community High School is in such indubitable wreck.

Students of Akute Community High School are always seen clustering under a makeshift corrugated iron sheet-roofed space that serves as classrooms, attached to the compound of another school (Z. I Primary School 2, Akute, Ifo LGA where they have become undignified squatters for well over three years. Hundreds of students are closely packed together, creating an extremely unsightly scene.

It was learnt that in this Akute Community High School The limited space occupied is without demarcation for the classes except for the positioning of makeshift blackboards facing rows of desks and chairs arranged in no particular order, with hardly space between them. During free periods, chaos reigns, with the students seizing the moment to become practically uncontrollable.

Barely protected from the scorching sun, and finding themselves in an unrestricted learning environment courtesy of the open space, they jump on desks, turning the place into a playground rather than a place of learning. Cane wielding teachers sweat, while school prefects also go around, under a continuous strain of attempting to restore order throughout the hours that knowledge should have been impacted.

Passing vehicles blare their horns along the dusty road, right by the school’s polythene covered edges. The overcrowding, coupled with suffocating dust and unsightly refuse dump nearby are enough reasons to disqualify the school as a proper place to learn.

But the students attending the school are nothing near being privileged enough to seek transfer to a more conducive place of learning. Most of them are from less than average income earning homes. One of them, a prefect in SS2 who spoke to P.M.NEWS Metro in jittery tones said that for those in his class that started their secondary school education in Akute Community High School five years ago, the present site is the third one.

From the first location where the school was affiliated with an obscure Akute school, they were transferred to another, then a new site in a valley along the Ishashi-pipeline axis about four years ago. But the well constructed school became waterlogged, with the release of water from the Ogun-Osun River Basin Authority dam over three years ago.

The movement of the students to the present location was supposed to be a temporary arrangement till the water dried up. But three sessions after, nothing indicates a possible return to the abandoned school. For now, the students at their present makeshift school remain exposed to the risk of getting killed by vehicles due to the location of the ‘classrooms’, apart from health risks associated with overcrowding and dust inhalation.

Akute Community is sincerely hoping and seeking for government assistance in developing this school in their community. Nevertheless there are numerous schools like Akute Communty school in this country that also need urgent attention, and rebuilding these schools will add more value to the educational standard in the country.

It is obvious the Government has had enough and already irritated by the frequent cyber crimes that have long being going on in the country also the complaints coming from abroad about so many Nigerians being involved in it.

A Nigerian gay pastor Rev. Jide Macaulay preaches gay acceptance

Reverend Rowland Jide Macaulay used to run a secret gay church in Ojodu Berger Lagos called House of Rainbow Fellowship. He left for England some years back after a major newspaper carried some exposed information about his homosexual church and he was subsequently receiving huge threats from many Nigerians.

Presently He's still running his gay church in the UK and has been fully speaking out publicly against the recently passed anti-gay law in Nigeria and wishes to impact gay acceptance to the lives of Nigerians.

Rev. Jide Macaulay recently wrote an emotional article about being rejected by his father when he came out as a homosexual in 1994 and his acceptance of his lifestyle and sexuality many years later.
Here is Rev Jide Macaulay's article....

I am writing this article to share my story with people who want to reconcile sexuality, faith, and family. It is a sequel to “My Father, My Faith and My Sexuality: The Dialogue” (in Q-zine’s first issue). Readers of that article will understand how much I have looked forward to visiting Nigeria again after years of estrangement. That long-postponed visit finally took place in January 2011, after a three year absence. This is the experience I want to share with you now.

Some background first. I came out as gay in 1994 after a troubled heterosexual life. My coming out was a disaster of, you might say, Biblical proportions. I was hated and denounced on mainly religious grounds, called a sinner, a defiler, an abomination, etc.

When my family found out I was gay, many of my siblings stopped speaking with me. My mother was the only one who comforted me. With my father, it was three years of hell. I had to face the fact that I could lose him. I wondered, as a person of faith, what my “heavenly Father” would do if my earthly father could react with such hatred.

Many people at the House Of Rainbow Fellowship in Nigeria (and a few more outside Nigeria) have met my Dad. He is a wonderful, typical Yoruba man, but when my “gay church” hit the headlines in 2008, he was caught unawares in a Nigerian media frenzy that nearly crippled his reputation as a high-profile pioneer of African Theology.

I believed that I was wonderfully made, created in the image of God. My only answer was prayer and more prayer. “My Father, My Faith and My Sexuality: The Dialogue” gives an account of the long healing process between my father and me, culminating in our reconciliation at a conference on faith and sexualities in South Africa in November 2009.

By 2011 we were ready to see each other in Nigeria again. As we sat down for lunch on Victoria Island in Lagos at the beginning of the year, my father announced, “I am pleased that I am having lunch with my gay son.” Even though I knew we were father and son again, I almost fell out of my chair. This is what we all need to hear as we struggle with our relationships, especially with parents and families. If we are not loved at home, we can never find love abroad. But my experience shows that even if being LGBTI is poorly understood in Nigeria, one day those who reject us will accept and celebrate us.

As far as I can remember, I have always been gay, but my first awareness of it was at about the age of seven. I was interested in being female. All the roles girls played were of great interest to me. I wanted a boy to cuddle me in games such as Father/Mother or Husband/Wife. I had no names to describe these feelings, but they were deeply rooted in my understanding and feelings.

At 14, I experienced my first same-sex love, but with my upbringing, I could only react with confusion, guilt and personal rejection, feelings that followed me well into adulthood. Growing up in the 1980s in Nigeria, there were no visible gay role models to provide assurance or comfort.

Still, I am grateful for my upbringing in a traditional African Christian family with no shortage either of love or strict parenting. My only heartache was my sexuality, which, sadly, I could not share with anyone in my family or religious community. I was forced to carry the burden alone for most of my young adult life.

In the mid 1980s, I went to the United Kingdom and plunged into a new environment with a strange culture, but I made my home in the Nigerian expat community. With strong Nigerian social customs, ethics, traditions and religious focus, it was like a replica of Nigeria. Except, of course, that we were in the UK, surrounded by a much more diverse approach to both private and public lives that I could not ignore. I was a very confused young man. I spent most of my time praying for healing and deliverance from my homosexual feelings, yet the more I prayed the more confused I became.
In 1987, I met the woman who was to become my wife and bear me a son. In all this obscurity, I decided that I should marry this woman I had fallen in love with. I hoped my gayness would be cured when I married, and so in 1991 I stood at the marriage registry taking my wedding vows. I had no one to talk with. I could not approach the Nigerian community on such a delicate and, as I thought, shameful matter.

Marriage, even fatherhood, needless to say, did not dissipate my feelings for other men. Nothing changed. I had only managed to join the hierarchy of married Africans. I had promised to satisfy, honour and cherish my wife, but married life soon became a nightmare. It took just three years before the relationship broke down. I hated myself more than anyone hated me. I had done what no one should ever do.

My life felt like a bad dream and a plague on society, but all I could do was leave my community and religion behind and go in search of who I was, all the while with responsibility for a young life I had helped to create. At the time of my divorce, my son was just two years old.

The bitterest part was that the church and the religious community I had cherished and adored were the first to ostracise me. Indeed, the bitterness was too foul to swallow. This was the beginning of a love-hate relationship with Nigeria, Nigerians and the church. My family’s discovery of my sexuality came later and was the worst of all, when both my father and my son turned against me.

As a person of faith, my focus was always reconciliation, first with God and then with the people who mattered most to me. It took me several years to come out to my close family members, friends and colleagues. Each step bears its own mark of pain and anguish. I was psychotic at one point. It was difficult for me to trust anyone. I was ill-treated from one African Christian community to another whenever it was discovered that I was gay.

Yet I knew I was a “child of the living God.” The more strongly I held on to this belief, the more I walked towards my healing. I also found a Christian community, the Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) movement, that accepted and welcomed LGBTI people of faith. It was a joyful experience, and I revelled in this new community, but outside of it I still had to deal with discrimination, not only because of my sexual orientation but also due to racism.

However, my faith only grew stronger, and I had no intention of giving up. I knew there were many people like me, in Africa as well as in Europe. I went for further theological training with the MCC, and in 2006 I founded the House Of Rainbow Fellowship in my native country, the first Christian denomination to welcome lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and intersex people in a country hostile to all of these.

I spent the next two years in Nigeria building the House of Rainbow and, by September 2008, we were thriving. Indeed, we became a household name, but for all the wrong reasons!

The hatred and insecurity these harmless initiatives created were intense. Some of us were threatened with death, and many of our members suffered rejection and violence. Some fled the country abroad. My home was vandalised, and my entire family were threatened for my actions. Leading religious leaders and politicians spoke of me with hatred and incredible malice. But we had grown a movement of LGBTI Christians in a hostile nation, and there was no going back.

At the same time, I got more involved with my father’s organisation, spent more time with him and introduced as many of our LGBTI members to him as I could, so that he got to meet many LGBTI people. I became part of his daily life again, and he was my mentor and advisor on many issues, my first port of call when it came to challenging conservative theological rhetoric and getting political advice. I spent invaluable time with him, learning from his wisdom.

I also seized this opportunity to raise the issue of homosexuality and the church and to search for answers to the religious community’s exclusion of LGBTI people. I studied theological texts that spoke to the issues. I laboured intensely, debating these matters with my father, whom I respect dearly and consider a great thinker.

However, in 2008 I was forced to flee Nigeria. My father was the first to tell me it was time to leave the hostility behind. He even promised to clear up any mess I had to leave behind. I was amazed he was willing to help me in my dark moment.

Our long dialogue paid off further when he agreed to attend the conference in South Africa that I wrote about in the last issue of Q-zine. At the conference, to my amazement again, he revealed a new openness to the inclusion of LGBTI people in the church.

But I had been forced to return to England shrouded with hatred, feeling cheated out of my mission. Back in the UK, I embarked on a long journey to raise and address issues of discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. It is no longer a Nigerian battle but one for the entire African continent, and I believe our persistence will pay off in the end.

On returning back to the UK, I also focused on rebuilding relationships with my family. It has not been easy, but with the grace of God, I have been making progress.

I have a son who is now a grown man. For years he struggled to understand why his father was gay. The numerous headlines and snide remarks from the church and the Nigerian community did not help. He was desperate to understand, but he was surrounded by people sending messages of gloom and doom.

Just before his 18th birthday, he told me he was ashamed I was gay and regretted any connection with me, that he was not proud to mention me or tell people we are related.

This hurt me deeply, but whatever my son thought about me, I knew that to deny my gayness was to deny God. As a person of faith, I have to believe God will never give anyone a burden they cannot bear, yet my son’s statement made me almost lose patience with God. Nevertheless I have managed to stay firm in my spirituality and prayers. I believe my “investment” in faith must one day pay off, so I have rededicated myself to bringing the gospel of inclusion to everyone.

In 2011, my son agreed to spend the Easter weekend with me. It was the first time we had seen each other in months, though we had spoken over the phone and I had written him a few letters, working towards understanding and reconciliation.

At our Easter reunion he told me that he and his partner had discussed my sexuality and that he no longer had a problem with it. I have pondered what caused the sudden change of heart and must admit I was a little confused about it and the prospect of reconciliation after all this time. It was a shock that the most precious people in the world, my father and son, now both accepted me as a gay man, but what a wonderful shock!

All I am sure of now is that it is never wise to allow the insecurity of our families to cause us to be estranged from them. Deep down, we will always be part of these families, and everyone knows that. Never give up on yourself or your family. Reconciliation is possible. We just have to be willing to pay the price towards full acceptance.

Hong Kong billionaire's lesbian daughter Gigi Chao writes to her Dad

Hong Kong billionaire Cecil Chao, who recently in the news doubled the reward ($130million) which was initially $65million to be given to any man who could turn his lesbian daughter Gigi Chow straight, marry her and give him grandchildren received a response from his daughter after his public offer.

34 year old Gigi Chao is in no doubt greatly in love with her female partner Sean Eav they both live together in France. Recently she wrote an open letter to her father after a public large reward made by her father to any man who could turn her straight. In the letter she told her billionaire dad to know the fact she is a lesbian and that her lifestyle.

Here is the Letter....

Dear Daddy,
I thought the timing was right for us to have a candid conversation.
You are one of the most mentally astute, energetic yet well mannered and hard-working people this humble earth has ever known.
Your confidence, quick wit, and charisma brightens any room you enter.
I love you very much, and I think I can speak for my brothers also, that we have the utmost respect for you as a father and role model in business.

I am sorry that people have been saying insensitive things about you lately. The truth is, they don’t understand that I will always forgive you for thinking the way you do, because I know you think you are acting in my best interests. And we both don’t care if anybody else understands.

As your daughter, I would want nothing more than to make you happy. But in terms of relationships, your expectations of me and the reality of who I am, are not coherent.

I am responsible for some of this misplaced expectation, because I must have misled you to hope there were other options for me. You know I’ve had male lovers in the past, and I’ve had happy, albeit short-lived, relationships. I found myself temporarily happy, buoyed by the freshness, the attention, the interest, of someone physically stronger than myself.

But it was always short-lived, as I quickly lost patience, and felt an indescribable discomfort in their presence. It usually made me frustrated, and I would yearn for my freedom again. I’ve broken a few hearts, hearts of good, honest and loving men, and I’m sorry that it had to be so.

But with Sean, a woman, somehow it was different. I am comfortable and satisfied with my life and completely at ease with her. I know it’s difficult for you to understand how I could feel romantically attracted to a woman; I suppose I can’t really explain it either. It just happens, peacefully and gently, and after so many years, we still love each other very much.

My regret is that you have no idea how happy I am with my life, and there are aspects of my life that you don’t share. I suppose we don’t need each other’s approval for our romantic relationships, and I am sure your relationships are really fantastic too.

However, I do love my partner Sean, who does a good job of looking after me, ensuring I am fed, bathed and warm enough every day, and generally cheering me up to be a happy, jolly girl. She is a large part of my life, and I am a better person because of her.

Now, I’m not asking you to be best of friends; however, it would mean the world to me if you could just not be so terrified of her, and treat her like a normal, dignified human being.
I understand it is difficult for you to understand, let alone accept this truth.

I’ve spent a lot of time figuring out who I am, what is important in my life, who I love and how best to live life, as an expression of all these questions. I am proud of my life, and I would not choose to live it any other way (except also figuring out how to be gentler on the planet).
I’m sorry to mislead you to think I was only in a lesbian relationship because there was a shortage of good, suitable men in Hong Kong. There are plenty of good men, they are just not for me.

Wishing you happiness.

Patiently yours,
Your daughter, Gigi.

It was learnt that Rocket Internet registered Konga.cd for Cote D’Ivoire, Konga.cm for Cameroun, Konga.ly for Libya, Konga.mu for Mauritius and Konga.ma for Morocco. Others include: Konga.mw for Malawi, Konga.sc for Seychelles, Konga.sh for Saint Helena, Konga.co.ke for Kenya and Konga.co.za for SA.

And this explains the situation that if Konga decides to set up shop in any of these countries, Rocket Internet has effectively deprived them of the benefit of domain localisation. Continue...

It was learnt that the look alike sites were reportedly registered in June 2012 by Arnt Jeschke on behalf of Rocket Internet GmbH in Dublin.

Konga is now claiming that this development is affecting its effectiveness in over eleven countries including Nigeria, where it's major customers are.

The only option that they may have left would be to buy the domain names from Rocket Internet, for which, should Rocket Internet decide to sell at an exorbitant price, Konga may not be able to operate in that country as Konga.

Meanwhile sources close to Jumia.com claim Konga also registered a look alike name Jumai.com.ng which redirects to Konga. Konga claims they have since dropped the name.

In internet business, this practice is called cyber squatting and many countries haves enacted a law against it.

Konga founder, Shagaya, is said to be exploring means to seek legal redress against Jumia.com.

Konga.com and Jumia.com are presently the biggest e-commerce platform in this part of the world

Manchester City moves to the top spot of the EPL after a super victory against Tottenham

Source: Sky Sports

Manchester city outclassed their counterpart Tottenham Hospur with a huge victory of 5 goals to 1. The scorers include Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic and Vincent Kompany as they moved to the top spot of the EPL table.

Man of the match, David Silva was much Involved Manchester City's best work and unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet.
Sergio Aguero's opener in the goal scoring saw him picked out brilliantly by Silva and finish sublimely. Will be a big miss if he has another knock.

Save of the match: Hugo Lloris spread himself really well to claw a first-half header from Aguero to safety.
Moment of the match: The decision to dismiss Danny Rose turned the momentum of the tie firmly in Manchester City's favour.

Talking point: Are City now THE side to beat in the Premier League title race? Can Tottenham force their way into the top four?
Aguero could have had four by the 25th-minute mark as, sandwiched either side of his opener, the Argentine cracked one effort off the woodwork, saw a powerful header produce a sprawling one-handed save from Hugo Lloris and another hacked off the line by Rose.

When he was able to find the back of the net, he did so in style - latching onto a perfectly-weighted pass from David Silva to nonchalantly dink the ball over Lloris and send it spinning inside the post.

Spurs thought they had found a leveller nine minutes before half-time, but the flag was raised as Michael Dawson turned home a fizzed free-kick from Christian Eriksen.

Worryingly for City, Aguero hobbled off before the interval and could be set for another spell on the sidelines, but they wrapped up the points within eight minutes of the re-start.

Rose appeared to get a toe to the ball as he slid into a challenge on Dzeko, but he was given his marching orders by referee Andre Marriner, following consultation with his assistant, and Toure sent Lloris the wrong way from the penalty spot.

Then, three minutes later, Dzeko got in on the act himself as he finished emphatically after Silva had cracked the upright and the ball broke kindly in his direction, ensuring that an effort turned in by Capoue after a scramble from a Spurs corner counted for little in the grand scheme of things.

The final nails in Tottenham's coffin - who will be sick of the sight of City after shipping six at the Etihad Stadium in November - were hammered home by Jovetic, who saw a deflected strike hand him his first Premier League goal, and Kompany, who found himself in the right place at the right time to cushion the ball into an empty net.

More slaughtering in Borno by Boko Haram Terrorists

As of Tuesday, the death toll in the  Kawuri village attack  had risen to 85. Eyewitnesses had on Monday said that 52 people were slaughtered by the insurgents  during the Kawuri  attack.

Kawuri villagers, who were  preparing for the burial of two newly-discovered bodies when   Governor  Kashim Shettima  visited them, said they had buried  83 corpses.

Catholic Bishop of Yola, Mamza   Stephen, captured the calamity that befell worshippers  at a Catholic church in Waga Chakawa in Adamawa State when Boko Haram insurgents struck on Sunday morning.

The Bishop told the  British Broadcasting Corporation that he heard from the survivors that insurgents   arrived the village  on trucks and locked the church “towards the end of the service.”

According to him, the  militants set off bombs, before burning houses and taking residents hostage during  the  four-hour siege.

He added that   death toll in the  Waga Chakawa attack  was  30 and not 22 as widely reported.

“Everybody is living in fear.  There is no protection. We cannot predict where and when they are going to attack. People can’t sleep with their eyes closed,” he lamented.

In  Kawuri village in Borno State, the story was the same as a 46-year- old grandmother, Rabi Mallam, narrated how another band of insurgents set her hut on fire on Sunday evening.

She said when she heard gunshots from every direction in the community, she rushed into her hut and hid herself with her son and granddaughter.

“I covered the children with heavy blanket soaked in water, but the fire still burnt us. I cried for the children because they were calling me to take them out, but I could not,” she said.

Although  Mallam and  the children (her son and granddaughter), survived  with serious burns, many others were not as lucky as they died in the fire set on over  300 houses in the village by the insurgents.

Here is the New Generation Toyota Yaris

Toyota Nigeria Limited is always out to satisfy their customers, and being the biggest automobile company and the highest selling brand in the country unveiled the new generation Yaris, a budget car, last Thursday in Lagos. They revealed the Yaris would serve dual purposes.

The automobile company revealed that the all-new Yaris had put all of Toyota’s big ideas in one small car, thus combining the comfort and clever features usually found in a large car with the manoeuvrability, and fuel economy of a small car.

Michael Ade, Toyota Nigeria Limited Chairman gave the other reason during the presentation of the new car. “Business climate in Nigeria and indeed the world is witnessing some form of lull; this has invariably resulted in the reduction of cash flow. Public, private bodies as well as individuals are becoming increasingly conscious of the value and quality of what they spend their hard earned money on. Ade said in the New Yaris unveiling event.

The TNL boss described the new Yaris as a smart but compact mid-size sedan that would redefine the personality of its owner; a model that would spark up music in the soul of its riders and create another beautiful world around its targets.

The new generation Toyota yaris is powered by 1.3-litre engine and has adopted an electronically controlled throttle. It is equipped with dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligence (VVT-I).

The new generation Toyota Yaris has an impressive and dynamic exterior styling. the exterior was designed to be ‘eye catching’ and desirable at a first glance.the car had been designed with noise insulating and absorbing materials.

The interior is designed to have an adequate headroom and legroom on both rows. It has leading rear-seat legroom, with reduced cabin noise. It is also equipped with an easily accessible storage space such as an open tray on the passenger side of the instrument panel.  Its ample luggage space allows for easier loading and unloading. The new Yaris also has some highly improved passive safety
Features.

Star Rapper Kanye West gives $250,000 to a man he dealt with in Beverly Hills

After beating up a man in Beverly Hills, he rewarded him with $250,000. According to TMZ, Kanye has settled the man he beat up in the waiting room of a Beverly Hills chiropractor with more than $250,000.

The young man who allegedly hurled racial epithets at Kim earlier this month has agreed to the civil settlement and now feels satisfied enough that he does not want to go forward with a criminal prosecution. Law enforcement sources tell us the D.A. has not decided whether to charge Kanye with battery. The reality is there is almost no chance of that happening.

First, the D.A. now has an uncooperative victim. Second, the victim's alleged racial epithets will not sit well with the jury. And there are probably lots of Kanye fans in the jury pool. We're told during the settlement negotiations the victim's demand soared to the upper 6 figures, so $250K is just a fraction. We called Kanye's civil lawyer, Shawn Holley for comment ... but we got nothin'.Nevertheless ... we're calling it case closed." TMZ reports

Arsene Wenger reveals he may bring in a surprise before the end of January transfer window

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger has revealed he may have to surprise fans by bringing in some new faces before the end of the January transfer window following a few injured players in his team.

Arsenal has failed to gained the chance to step up four points clear at the top of the Premier League table following their 2-2 draw played at Southampton.

The Gunners were forced to recover from the shock of conceding Jose Fonte's first-half goal as Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla put Arsenal 2-1 ahead at St Mary's but Adam Lallana equalised to deny the Arsenal a vital three points.

Arsenal told a Sports Journalist in an interview after the match "I have nothing to tell you tonight, maybe I hope we have something to tell you because we lost have a few players now." Mathieu Flamini was dismissed for an 80th minute challenge on Morgan Schneiderlin and will be suspended for three matches, while Santi Cazorla was forced off with an injury.

He went further saying, "Abou Diaby and Theo Walcott are long term absentees and Wenger admitted that Aaron Ramsey suffered a setback during training and may be out for longer than expected but overall I think Jack Wilshere will be back soon, so I think we'll be fine."

Arsene Wenger admitted he was happy to settle for a point, though it wasn't what he expected "It may not be enough but at least considering the situation it's not too bad the way we responded. We have shown again great character" he said.

I gave Mata nothing, I feel sorry with that - Mourinho

The "Happy one" Jose Mourinho, has revealed he regrets not being able to make former Chelsea star player Juan Mata a better player on his return to Stamford Bridge.

The former Chelsea midfielder completed a £37.1m move to Manchester United on Saturday after failing to secure a regular place in the Chelsea side under Mourinho, despite being named the club's player of the season for the last two years.

Jose Mourinho has preferred Brazilian star Oscar to Mata and he admitted he had no choice but to sell Mata after forcing him to play out of position.

Jose Mourinho said "I gave him (Mata) nothing to be honest and I feel sorry with that." "I am sorry that I didn't make him a stronger player. Maybe it was something new for him, not to be a first choice (player) in a difficult moment," said Mourinho.

"Maybe that made him, as a man, as a player, stronger but I gave him nothing to be honest and I feel sorry with that.

"I tried to make him play in a position where he was not comfortable. He gave everything and played some good matches in that position.

"We are speaking about a world champion, a European champion. It is difficult for him.

"I feel sorry for that and because of that I feel we couldn't stop him going to Manchester United, despite being Manchester United's direct rival."

David Moyes, Manchester United manager expects the Spanish playmaker to give his side a huge lift in their bid to finish in the top four.

"I don't think we will have any more (new signings) in January - I'm still working on it and looking to do so. But hopefully it will be the first of some new signings, some new players who will arrive, more likely in the summertime". Moyes said.

"Undoubtedly we could all do with a bit of a lift. We have not done as well as we would have liked to do. We see this as the start, we have to look to improve and I'm going to try to bring in some new players to make that happen.

"I want to build an exciting team, I want to win and I want to give the supporters something to shout about - I've not done that often enough."

The Soccer Saturday Panel doubt whether Mata's signing will be enough to secure a top four finish for Man Utd.
Moyes, who is likely to give Mata his debut at home to Cardiff on Tuesday, admitted he was surprised to be able to get the player in mid-season.

"I never felt that we would get that opportunity," added the Scot. "I wasn't sure that Chelsea would ever sell him to us. Thankfully we got there and I am delighted he is here.

Pope John Paul’s blood stolen in Italy church

Suspected thieves broke into a small church in the mountains, east of Rome over the weekend and stole a reliquary with the blood of late Pope John Paul II.
Some of John Paul’s blood was saved after an assassination attempt that nearly killed him in St. Peter’s Square on May 13, 1981.

A custodian of the reliquary, Franca Corrieri said she had discovered a broken window early on Sunday morning and contacted the police. She said when they entered the small stone church they found the gold reliquary and a crucifix missing.

Franca Corrieri said the incident was a lot more like a “kidnapping’’ than a theft as she could not say if the intention of the thieves may have been to seek a ransom for the blood.

She also said apart from the reliquary and a crucifix, nothing else was stolen from the isolated church, even though the thieves would probably have had time to take other objects during the night-time theft.

Reuters reports that John Paul, who died in 2005, loved the mountains in the Abruzzo region east of Rome and sometimes slip away from the Vatican secretly to hike or ski there and pray in the church.

It was reported that the ex Pope, Pope John Paul, who had been Pope for 27 years, was due to be made a saint of the Roman Catholic Church in May, meaning the relic would become more noteworthy and valuable.

Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, Pope John Paul’s former private secretary in 2011 gave the local Abruzzo community some of the late pontiff’s blood as a token of the love he had felt for the mountainous area.
It was put in a gold and glass circular case and kept in a niche of the small mountain church of San Pietro della Ienca, near the city of L’Aquila

Cross River State Police Command ruined the plans of heavily armed militants who wanted to attack Calabar during the annual Carnival Festival. Mr Kola Sodipo, who is the state police commissioner revealed that two of the suspected militants, Daniel Sunday, 25, and Prophet Friday, 19, were arrested on December 24, 2013 at Ikang, Bakassi with 800 live  ammunition, 7.62mm  and 634v  rounds of general purpose machine gun , GPMG,  56 mm and 632 live assault rifle ammunition.

"The plans to unleash havoc in the city  during the annual Calabar Festival” by these hoodlums were prevented by their arrest". Sodipo went further saying that explosive devices, mounted by another set of  suspected militants, Eyo Okokon Nsa and-Peter Ibe, during the period at Atan , at Odukpani in the outskirts of Calabar, could have caused havoc  had the police not uncovered the  plan and carried out immediate detonation of the devices. “110 pieces of dynamite fuses, nine bags of ammonium nitrate used to prepare the explosive devices were recovered and the suspects arrested and they confessed to the crime”, he said.
During the period, according to the police commissioner,  a total of eleven armed robbery suspects were arrested  in various parts of the state.

The suspects include David Nse Abasi, Colins Okoh and Aka Jerome who blocked Mkpani / Ekori road in the Central Senatorial  District and robbed several persons including one David Onovo of N79,000,00. Paedophilia crime escalates in Edo State

Recently, there are very few reported kidnapping and armed robbery crimes in Edo State, and it looks like they are actually on the decrease while suspected child defilers are on the increase in the state. As a matter of fact, out of 60 suspected criminals paraded on Tuesday by the  state police commissioner, Folunso Adebanjo, 16 were suspected child defilers.

A reported case of a 33-year-old man, Justice Olise, who claimed because he was rejected by his female lovers , he resorted to sexually assaulting small boys. At the last count, on January 1, 2014 when nemesis caught up with Olise, he had allegedly sexually assaulted no less than five boys aged between 11 and 14.
The self- confessed child defiler told Sunday Vanguard that the young men usually come into his room to visit him before he sexually abused them.

Justice Olise went ahead revealing how he has been sleeping with the boys, “I started this kind of life when my girlfriend broke my heart. After that, I entered into another relationship with a girl. I suffered the same heart break.  Because of that, I decided to stay on my own.  So I started masturbating since I no longer had a girl friend. I was doing that before the children came and I started sleeping with them in my house. One of them is 11, one is 12, the other one 14. They are the children of my neighbours," Olisa said.

He went further narrating, "I used them each time they come to greet me. I usually apply cream on their lap before sleeping with them. But on the 1st of January, the community people gathered in my house and started beating me. They took me to Eyaen Police Station before they transferred me to the State CID".

I am a Christian but I don’t know what came over me, I was doing it with the children for a year and a half now”.
The suspect continued: “I attend a new generation church.I know the Bible does not allow this and I have been praying and asking God for forgiveness since I was arrested. I don’t really know why I got involved in this. God should forgive me”.
Police commissioner Adebanjo gave details of other suspected defilers.  According to him, “one Roland Osagie, 28 years old, who lives in Upper Mission Extension, was reported to have had unlawful canal knowledge of an 11 year-old girl. The grandmother, who discovered that the girl had pain in her private part while bathing her, reported the case to the police.

Also, Ibrahim Akpobore, a 19-year-old boy, forcefully had canal knowledge of an 11-year-old girl at her mother’s farm in Igueleba, where she was sent by her mother to go with him and show him where cassava tubers are to be uprooted. When they got to the farm, he abandoned the job he was supposed do and had canal knowledge of the little girl. Peter Omoregbe, a 42 year-old man, had canal knowledge of his nine year-old step daughter.

The girl’s mother discovered blood stains on her daughter’s clothes while washing them and it was when she threatened her that she confessed that her step father had been sleeping with her and that he warned her not to tell any body. In Irrua, Sunny David had unlawful sex with a 3-year-old girl. Her mother discovered that blood was coming out of her vagina when the girl woke up and could not ease herself.
She eventually told the mother the suspect and he was arrested. One Benjamin Amadin, a 60-year-old man, also defiled a 9-year-old girl here in Benin City. I am actually surprised that people can be so callous to sleep with small girls, this is madness.

And it is shocking that the number of those committing these atrocities are increasing each day in Edo but I think we will deal with that. We are only appealing to parents to be vigilant because these bad people are always around us”.

Adebanjo, who also explained the cache of arms and ammunition and some the persons arrested in connection with them, said between last December and January this year, vowing 2014 will be hot for criminals in Edo State.  His words: “I want to thank God for all the successes we have achieved. I want to also thank the IG  for his support. Today, we have 60 suspects made up of kidnappers, armed robbers, rapists, child defilers and a man who slept with five male children. I want to say that Edo will be tough for criminals in 2014.

This is a warning to them because we are going to be very hard on criminals especially those involved in inter-state crimes; those that move from their state to come to Edo  to commit crime, we are going to go after them and get them down. And for the local criminals, I warn that they should not collude with outsiders to come and disturb the peace of the state. I advise them to repent this new year or they will be in trouble. If they don’t want to repent they should leave Edo. Fighting crime in Edo is very challenging but we are not going to relent in our efforts in going after these criminals. We will go wherever they are and fish them out.

“The same for cultists, whether you are a student or whatever. Because of a fight you go and kill, you are stupid and your action will not be tolerated. This madness must stop because if we get you, you will not like yourself. The killing of innocent people must stop in this state. As you can also see, some hoodlums have been causing crisis in Akoko Edo Local Government, killing and shooting every day.

Six of them were arrested while we are searching for others. I have told anyone who cares to listen that violence is not the best way to solve crisis. If you have any communal issue, meet the elders or report to the appropriate quarters rather than taking the law into your hands. These people who were arrested in Akoko Edo will face the music at least to teach others a lesson.

Over 300 passengers on Royal Carribean cruise ship become ill

Over 300 people boarded on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship have suddenly become ill during a voyage, the Centers for Disease Control said on its website.

In a statement reported, 281 of the 3,050 passengers and 22 of 1,165 crew members of Explorer of the Seas reported vomiting and diarrhea.

In a statement to CNN, Royal Caribbean International said those who fell sick have responded well to over-the-counter medication being administered on board the ship.

Royal Caribbean International spokesperson Janet Diaz, has told CNN that the ship skipped a planned stop in Haiti on Saturday and sailed directly to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where it underwent an extensive sanitizing.

The agency said the cause of the illness was unknown.

Janet Diaz also told CNN the use of special cleaning products designed to kill norovirus will continue to be used throughout the voyage. All responses are being coordinated closely with the CDC, she said.

Noroviruses spread easily and are a common cause of gastroenteritis, which produces vomiting and diarrhea, according to the CDC.

A CDC health officer and epidemiologist will board the ship in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on Sunday to conduct an investigation, a health assessment and evaluate the response, the CDC release said.

Explorer of the Seas left Cape Liberty, New Jersey, on January 21 and is scheduled to make stops in St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

Done Deal! Juan Mata moves to Manchester United for a club-record fee of £37.1million.

Juan Mata flew north on Saturday and successfully came through a medical before finalising his move from Chelsea.

The Spain international is expected to train with his new-team mates in the coming days to make his debut against Cardiff at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

"I am thrilled to be joining United. I have enjoyed some very happy years at Chelsea but the time has come for a new challenge", he said.

"United is the perfect place for me and I am excited at the chance I have to be part of the next phase in the club's history.

"Chelsea is a top club and I have many friends there but you cannot turn down the chance to join Manchester United. I look forward to helping the manager and the team be successful in the coming years."

The transfer, which far exceeds United's £30.75m deal for Dimitar Berbatov back in 2008, represents a real coup for David Moyes following a summer of frustration in the market and a faltering defence of United's Premier League title in his first season at the club.

He said: "Juan is one of the finest playmakers in the game today and it's a real pleasure to have secured his signature.

"He's been instrumental in Chelsea's recent success, with a notable 28 assists and 32 goals in his last two Premier League seasons.

University of Missouri has now set up a course study for Jay-Z and Kanye West relationship

Source: Time News Feed

Friendships have nurtured great art: Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald championed each other’s literature in post-war Paris; Paul Gaugin and Vincent van Gogh pushed each other to new heights of Post-Impressionistic mastery; John Lennon and Paul McCartney blended their talents into songwriting classics; and Jay Z and Kanye have established a hip-hop empire.

West and Carter’s relationship is the subject of a University of Missouri class, “Jay-Z and Kanye West.”

The course is taught through the English department, and the instructor Andrew Hoberek compared the periphrastic rappers to poets in an interview with music blog Consequence of Sound: “I really do think that these guys are warming up to the level of major poets, and not many people think of it in those terms,” he said. ”They’re very much like painters and novelists in the 20th century, moving beyond the confines of the art form’s boundaries.”

For people who aren’t rap fans, this may seem crazy (or, rather, cray), an example of the academy kowtowing to student demand for fluffier classes. But Hoberek makes a valid point. Jay Z and Kanye’s projects are now multidisciplinary, mingling visual and performance arts as integral elements of their albums and concerts, to a greater extent than their predecessors. And their collaborations inform their solo projects. All of this is worth exploring in an academic setting, even if it’ll make Harold Bloom hyperventilate over the ruination of the academy

Hong Kong Billionaire doubles reward for any man who can make lesbian daughter straight

A Hong Kong billionaire Cecil Chao has just doubled his offer of an exceptionally large amount of money for any man who can win the heart of his lesbian daughter Gigi Chao and have her as a wife.

Cecil Chao first made headlines in September 2012 when he announced the initial huge offer of $65 million after his daughter, Gigi Chao, reportedly went away with her female lover in France.

Chao then told The Financial Times in January 2013 that the offer still stood, and if a man could woo his daughter he "will give them a moderately deluxe life." He added, "I would not force her to marry a man. But obviously I would, from my point of view, prefer her to be married and to have grandchildren.”

Now, Chao is upping the ante by offering approximately $130 million to any man who can sweep Chao off her feet after his first offer reportedly attracted 20,000 unsuccessful suitors.

Gigi Chao when heard about her dad's offer to any man who can make her straight, She told journalists “I don’t think my dad’s offering of any amount of money would be able to attract a man I would find attractive," She stated in an interview with the South China Morning Post. “I would be happy to befriend any man willing to donate huge amounts of money to my charity Faith in Love, provided they don't mind that I already have a wife. Third and lastly, thank you Daddy, I love you too.”
