The Super Eagles outclassed group favourites and hosts, Bafana Bafana of South Africa 3-1 to end the journey of the South Africans in the African Nations Championship on Sunday.
The Eagles surprised the South Africans and their fans back home, scoring two goals in the first half before wrapping up the game in the second half.
Bafana Bafana scored a consolation goal towards the end of the second, their first goal against Nigeria since 2004.
Super eagles have always been a bigger rival to the Bafana bafana team of South africa. Winning always go to the Super eagles anytime the two teams clash. Though in yesterday match, Bafana bafana of South africa picked up aggresively in the late second half of the match and they had a huge ball possesion.
Mali topped the group with seven points while Nigeria came second. South Africa came third. The Mambas of Mozambique brought up the rear.
