Two men Baba Ali, 45, and Aina Lawal, 52 on wednesday were arraigned by Police before an Ado Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing seven goats in the Ado Ekiti area of the state.
The prosecutor, Corporal Olasunkanmi Bamikole, told the court that the accused committed the offence on January 9, 2014 around 9.30am at Igbehin Street, Ado Ekiti, News Agency of Nigeria reports.
He alleged that the accused on the said date unlawfully had in their possession seven she-goats suspected to have been stolen.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge, while their counsel, Mr Peter Ogunkile, prayed the court to grant them bail.
Magistrate Doyin Akosile, consequently, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N20, 000 each with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case to Jan. 27, 2014 for hearing.
