Isidingo star actress Lesego Motsepe best known as "Letti Matabane" on South African/Mnet soap Isidingo has died today at the age of 40 in her home in Randburg.
Her family released a statement, revealing she was found dead by her brother Moemise Motsepe at about 11am on Monday morning. The paramedics also confirmed her death a few hours later.
Motsepe publicly announced her HIV status on World Aids Day in 2011 in a bid to help fight the stigma around people living with the disease. She conducted several workshops and talks on the importance of living with hope when affected by Aids directly or otherwise. She also worked as an Aids ambassador for many years, educating children in different communities.
Described as a loving daughter, sister, motivational speaker and friend, Motsepe was a drama graduate who was also an actor, poet, and storyteller who spent over 10 years as part of the cast of the popular soapie.
Motsepe is survived by her mother – Ivy Skhosana and two brothers – Andile Skosana and Moemise Motsepe and numerous nieces, nephews, her spiritual family and the broader family.
The actress has been living with HIV/AIDS since 1998. She is survived by family and friends.
